This film starts out with the stories of three students attending Pembroke College in a small Vermont town: Peter (Hines), a recent dropout from the local Episcopalian seminary school; Rachel (Banks), Peter's new girlfriend; and Alex (Park), Peter's lifelong best friend. When one of their friends, who's gay, is murdered, the trio tries to solve the crime. A key figure in the story is also "Father Ed" (Martinez), the local Episcopalian Catholic priest, who gives a shocking sermon in which he reveals that he's gay himself.
