I am really proud to be Penang lang! PLUPenang and Hokkien Lala
stole the lime light of all 80s celebrities last night at
Atmosphere, KL!
First Hokkien Lala, a 40 year-old out class sang keh mm from BM with
long red finger nails and all red dress, with big 80s shoulder pads
and her tall rooster crown hair-do thrilled the audience with her
hokkien famous number "Ai Pia Jia Eh Ia", combined with the veteran
Bintang RTM 1984 winner, Ramlah Ram Belacan, brought to the audience
their most salty, sour and spicy jokes.
Then Curry Milo (Kylie Minoque), Madonna Coconat (Madonna) & Cindy
Lobster (Cindy Lauper) performed their respective 80s popular
numbers in medley, brought the crowd to another level of excitement.
By that time the Penang had created their charm to the audience.
When Leather Bitch came out with all her bitchy and vulgar acts,
everyone was screaming till the roof almost came down.
But the highest peak of Penang performances was the "Venus -
Pisangrama". The audience went bersark and non-stop applause and
laughter and cheers!
Bravo to first time performers - Rahim, Bern & Ben! Even season
performers like Lek and Erica solute to thei guts and effort they
put in to put upo a fabulous show.
The organizer, LPG Committee decided to give away the Best Dress
prizes as Best Performance instead. So Venus won the most of the
audience applause, Hokkien Lala and Ramlah second, third was from
KL LPGers dance drama, which was very artistically choreograph based
on the late Leslie Cheung and Wang Chu Xiang famous 80s movie -"Chinese Ghost Story" (Qian Nu You Huen).
Again bravo to the PLUPenang for the best performance!

Dear All,
Haha! Wow! Wow! Wow! The LPG's Ultimate 80's Party was a smashing
success! Throughout the night I could hardly contain my excitement,
and the recollection of the night filled me with thrill whenever I
thought of the wonderful time I had over there.
The anticipation for an enjoyable night has been growing steadily
stronger as the big night came nearer. I have resolved to attend the
party no matter what and had strived to 'force' my senior colleague
not to put me oncall during that particular weekend. And in order to
get that weekend off, I had to work in ALL the other 4 weekends in
May instead. But oh...the sacrifice is well worth it!
The organising members had indeed put in a lot of effort to make the
event a success. The committee members and the volunteers had even
begun to gather at atmosphere before 2pm to prepare for the night.
One of the biggest task was to put up the huge 'Ultimate 80's Party'
Banner. After much heavings and puffings, the guys finally managed
to achieve a good erection of two towering phalic monument for us to
hang the banner on. Then came the blow jobs. But with good
cooperation from the cute guys and under the expert guidance of
Eddie, we managed the blow jobs very well and were able to produce
quite a number of respectable sized, swollen rubbers - balloons.
Haha! Hanging up the balloons was intially quite messy, but I guess
Eddie, CK, Jason and I had to agree that the final result werent too
bad after all. :-)
The rehearsal took quite a while, and in the end many performers had
to gobble down their food before rushing for their makeup. But their
transformation is nothing short of magical. Haha! At the entrance,
we have Anita Mui, Michael Jackson and Tina Turner mingling among
the crowds and taking pictures with their adoring fans.
The performances were really fantastic. Right from Eddy's rendition
of 'Making Love Out of Nothing At All" at the beginning, throughout
the show till the very end, I have enjoyed myself immensely. I guess
Jason who is at the backstage with me would be able to tell how
crazy I was gyrating to all the wonderful 80's classics.
The Cheer Leading team gave a commendable job with their
enthusiastic performance. This was then followed by the 80's medley
which really began to hit up the atmosphere at atmosphere. Hokkien
Lala + Ramlah Belacan were great. The Pinquettes were really
entertaining with the flashdance - oh what a feeling! Stella and the
Senjakala Boys gave us a very sensuous performance of NKOTB's Step by
Step, but unfortunately being backstage means I somehow missed the
awe-inspiring six-pack at the end of the dance. Haha! What a pity!
The Chinese Ghost Story Dance was a sight to behold indeed what with
their elaborate and exquisite costumes and props. The leather bitch
was awesome with her bitchiness. Oh but I guess I have to commend
her with her choice of slave. Haha! Who would want to give those
cute lips a peck? Madonna, Diana Ross and Tina Turner again brought
the hall down with their incredible performances. And who could ever
forget the gorgeous Harris who performed the heart stomping
capoiera?
I especially loved the performances by Lek, Bern and Benjamin. They
were smashing! Their transformation into Curry-Milo, Madonna, and
Cyndy Lobster were amazing. And their medley was really really good.
The dynamic trio's rendition of Venus again proved to be a flawless
performance. Yeah. Oh...indescribable. I can only say that I am glad
to be around to watch the whole performances.
It was great meeting old friends and making new friends in the party
as well. It was great meeting Tommy, Ah Loo, Scott as well as my uni
mates in the party. It was great knowing Thomas, Adrian, Jason, KC,
Tye, Carson, Hanafi, Stanley, Chee Leong... . Unfortunately, I didnt
managed to meet Wan even though we had spoken through the phone
about my volunteering to help. Maybe next time.
Yeah...it was an unforgettable night, a wonderful weekend for me. I
was so glad that I got to go to the party, and with a good bunch of
company from PluPenang to boot.
By sharing my experience here, I hope this can inspire more people
to join activities organised by PluPenang as well as LPG. It is
really worth coming out and meeting other people. It sure helps a
lot on the psyche to have a group of good plu friends who can just
gather together and have fun once in a while.
Well...hope to hear from others too. Vincent
Eric, Rahim, Benjamin, Bern, Lek:
You all doing the best among the best on the satge. I'm sure all the
plu penang members and even all the gay male will proud of your
perfomances. I can feel that you all are perfomed with all of your
soul. At that moment, my soul is really with you all there. You all
give us a really fun and wonderful Saturday night. Good Jobs!
