Last evening bowling was lots of fun. Jon, Wong, Jeff, Darrel, James, Rohit, Johan, Desmond and Beng truly gave their best despite being first timer or rusty at bowling. The get together having a ball of time was more important than the score. We had a blast cheering our team and teasing the
other team. The cheering, clappings and high fives really motivated some people with hit of strikes and spares in the most glamorous manner.

I believe a special acknowledgement to Johan is in order. He was scared to bowl initially. After much persuasion, he did bowl and surprise! he got a strike at his first attempt!!!!! It was nice to see that the others were giving him kind words, encouragement and advice and he managed to bowl until the end of game. And in the car, on his way back he said " I really enjoyed the bowling tonight" . I must thank everyone for their good words and 'conduct' that made his time with us at the bowling event comfortable and memorable. For someone who was shy and a very reluctant bowler, I think the group managed to coax him out of his shell and enjoy the evening like the rest of us.

Thank you also to Rohit, Darrel, Desmond and Beng for joining us for the first time. Rohit really hit the lane well and came out with impressive scores. Darrell was an enthusiastic student and despite a few longkangs, he did good for a rusty player; getting strike and spares along the way.

James, Wong and Jeff improved by leaps and bounds from the first outing. Watch out for them in the next session.

Jon was his usual competitive self. Strong and determined bowler, he is a sight to behold and a good bowling teacher to have.

Lek and Kelvin joined us for dinner afterwards and we had a lot of laughs sharing jokes and discussions on plu related matters. Thank you James for being a good organiser and until the ball strikes the pin next time ....

The more I am with PLUPenang, the more I grow to love it - the people I meet are just so adorable and irresistable! :-) I feel honoured to be in the group. The group has given me a sense of
belonging and joy in ways that is beyond my expectation. I hope to share these with you and hope you can be a part of the growing family too.

Yep, so it's me again - the enthusiastic bowler who has a penchant for longkangs. Looks like all the glamour and apparent intelligence that people associate me with my job painfully evaporated as my ball rolled into the longkang again and again! Haha! But to be honest, the bitter pill was not difficult to swallow. And the reason behind this is really the great company that I had during the bowling session. I never felt intimidated or embarassed in anyway. (Err...actually I was intimidated by the first-timer Johan who got a strike in his first throw. Haha!) The support was great and there was only fun and hilarious moments. So I guess that's how I managed to retain my enthusiasm and accepted my most unglamourous revelation in the most gracious manner. Thanks to Zaidi and Jon - my two teachers, and obviously the 2 best players in the group. It was nice to meet old friends again. And I was glad Johan came. Brave kid. From my observation, I think we had done ok. At least he became more and more comfortable with us as time passed by. Looking forward to our next gathering.
