QUEER TALK

PLUPenang's Queer Talk is making a comeback this month of August. During this first QT for the year, we will be talking about none other than "STD - Sexually Transmitted Diseases".

The session will be conducted in a powerpoint presentation, touching briefly on the many common STDs that have plagued and continue to plague the sexually active human population. In fact, the presentation will be given by PLUPenang's very own in-house doctor. (hehe!)

The details of the August QT are as below:

Title: "All You Need to Know about STD"
Date: 25 August 2007 (Saturday)
Time: 8pm - 10pm
Venue: to be announced on registration.

STDs are definitely not just about HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and Gonorrhea. If you have often wondered about what else could be out there that could endanger your life and health during unprotected sexual intercourse, then you should come and find out more about STD.

The aim of this QT is not to frighten or intimidate anyone, much less to dampen your sexual libido. :-) However, in circumstances that involve health and life, IGNORANCE is definitely NOT bliss.

Knowledge is Power. If you are well informed about the various risks and danger of unprotected sexual intercourse, then you might be more
motivated and inspired to think TWICE before you take the plunge or at least to take extra precautions to protect yourself in the midst of fun and excitement, bearing in mind that the very act of being careful could very well save your genitalia, if not your life.

It is also the hope of PLUPenang that with this short presentation, we would be able to usher in a more heightened awareness about Safer Sex among the gay community in Penang.
